Gudhjem is the first place in Denmark/Bornholm where they started smoking herrings (in the chimneys of the private homes) Around 1840 the first smoked herrings where shipped of to Copenhagen. So if you go to Gudhjem you have to try the smoked herring!!!
Further more Gudhjem is the city to go to if you wants to visit Christians Ø (Beautiful little nature island with a few residents) There is daily ferry connection to Christians Ø from Gudhjem!!!
A must see is Helligdomsklipperne, very beautiful rock formation by the ocean... Bring a flash light...
