Galapagos Islands Natural Environment

The climate in the Galapagos is subtropical featuring two main seasons: a warm, wet season from January to April, and a cool, drier season from May to December.  During the rainy season, the sea currents are warmer and there are less winds, whereas during the cooler season, the waves can be much rougher.  As the Galapagos is located close to the equator, the days are relatively constant with roughly 12 hours of sunlight per day.
