Egypt’s location within the North African desert belt, between the Mediterranean and the 23rd parallel north of the Equator, means that it is characterized by low annual rainfall as well as sunshine throughout the year Within Egypt, there is the contrast between the coastal Mediterranean climate and the hot dryness of the interior, however in these desert areas there is a sharp of contrast between day and night temperatures.The winter months of January and February can be quite cool especially in the area of the Delta and the Mediterranean. However, the further south one goes, the higher the temperature and the lower the humidity will become.


The weather is hot in the summer and mild in the winter.   There is little rainfall in the country, except along the Mediterranean coast.   The only water source comes from the Nile .

Travel Tips for Egypt Climate

1. Cornelia's Tip on Sharm el-Sheikh

Beautiful underwater world. Perfect weather in spring and autumn (about 30°degrees). Naama Bay is very touristic. For Shopping is Old Sharm quite less expensive. Always try to get a less price. You need to go to the Nationalpark Ras Mohamed and Nabq, make a Trip with Quads in the desert, go snorkeling on a boat and a lot more. Egyptian do not drink Alcohol. So drinks are expensive in compare with food or anything else. For going out I recommend "El Fanar", Pacha, Hard Rock and Alf Leila wa Leila.

3. Russell's Tip on Aswan
Aswan, Nile Valley, Egypt
Ah Aswan. So calm, relaxed and very African. The Nubian people are very warm and friendly and in December to Feb the temperatures are not too hot. Check out the Nubian House Restaurant, just outside of town, it has great views of the first cataract of the nile.

-Avoid the sneaky bastards out on the street who try get you to come for day trips on Camels, Quads and any other form of dessert transport.
-You can make good use of the local duty free shop:)
-Taxi drivers can be crazy...
-The go-karting track is quite cool.
-Enjoy Sharm, it is a nice place with a 99% good weather guarantee:)
-Crown Plaza Hotel is a good place to stay, although I'd recommend eating dinner somewhere else...
