Charming small island where customs and traditional clothing has survived until recent decade.
Even now you can enjoy a somewhat special ways of living there, but it seems to disappear rapidly as bars and tourist business is taking over in uncomfortably fast pace.
It is sad to see people coming from mainland Estonia to this little island on weekends or holidays to drink their heads off and cause trouble to local people and environment. Alcoholism seems to have worsened even among locals.
Sad backside of tourism.
Island people usually have this special something about them, and you do not have to be disappointed about it here. They are for mostly fun and genuine.
If I remember correctly this island is protected by UNESCO for it's long survived traditional lifestyle.
Let's hope that protection will not be lifted any time soon!
