Though the Falkland Islands are located beside Argentina, many are British through and through. The friendly locals are proud of their heritage and pubs, neat gardens and red mailboxes can all be found here along side sea lions and penguins that also make their home on this land. The Falkland Islands are home to a large and varied number of penguins from the Gentoos, who live here year round, to the Magellanic, Rockhopper, Macaroni and King Penguins. The Falkland Island’s southerly location means that winters can get a bit cold and somber, so make sure you bring a good warm windproof jacket!

Stanley is the capital of East Falkland and only town on the islands. The land on islands is good for domestic sheep's clothing  industry. 1.There are some shops in center where you can buy very good local cloth stuff, for example: sweaters etc.
Be ready to pay an expensive prize on all stuff here. 2. For attractions, these islands are fantactic for seeing the wildlife. There are five different types of penguin on the islands: the magellanic, rockhopper, macaroni, gentoo and king penguin. There are many other kinds of sea birds. For example: on Carcass Island. 3. There is Post Office in Stanley. Some people are searching for rare Spamps, Covers, Coins, Post cards and so on. The shop like "Falkland Collectibles" is just place for you. The owner of small shop is very nice person. His name is Phil Middleton. I have bought some rare stuff there. http://www.falklandcollectibles.com/ Enjoy Falkland Islands.

I was in Goose Green back during the war in 1982 and the first thing I noticed apart from it being very barren is although it was the middle of the summer it was very cold, we were running about in coats and gloves and the local kids were in shorts with no shirt???..unbelievable... so wrap up warm no matter when you go...

This is the only true city on the islands - as it has its own cathedral.  You can see 20 shipwrecks along the 7 miles of Stanley port.
