Stanley is the capital  largest city on the Falkland island.  Over four-fifths of the Falklanders live in this city.  Stanley was first founded in 1843, and today serves as the main shopping centre and hub for the other islands, as well as a popular stopover point for cruises en route to Antarctica.  It is also a popular fishing port.

This is the only true city on the islands - as it has its own cathedral.  You can see 20 shipwrecks along the 7 miles of Stanley port.
