Somosomo is a nice and frindly town on the island of Taveuni, a good location from where to visit the Dateline (next to the villageges of Waiyevo and Salialevu). The Dateline also crosses the northern tip of Vanua Levu and the island of Rabi (pronounced Rambi). To stand on the Dateline on land you will otherwise have  to go to Northern Siberia (try Wrangel Island) or to Antarctica.
