finland almost only consists of water and forests, and punkaharju is actually nothing different: lakes, forest, lakes, forest... incredible nature, i really have no words for it! and although i don't like cars at all, you really should go there with a car if you want to travel (i'm talking about all finland), just because of all the nature: there isn't anywhere to sleep, to buy some food or whatever within a radius of 100km. hitchhiking will not be succesful, as only one car passes within a whole day..
