Finland Language

Finnish has been the official language since 1863, when it replaced Swedish which had been used in Finland since the 12th century.   Swedish is now the second official language.

Finnish belongs to the Finno-Ugric language group, like Estonian.

Sami language is a recognized regional language mainly spoken in Lapland.
