Yliskylä, Helsinki.. Here is one photo from there. http://www.panoramio.com/photo/11693558 Good tip? (0) Helsinki, Southern Finland, Finland Like when travelling anywhere, your stay will be cheaper and far more interesting if you stay at a local´s place via Hospitality Club ( www.hospitalityclub.org ) or Couch Surfing ( www.couchsurfing.com ) instead of a hotel or a youth hostel. Good tip? (0) Helsinki, Southern Finland, Finland Be very careful on the subway! Both ticket machines were broken when I was at Central Station last year. Since there were no barriers to get to the platform level, I proceeded without a ticket downstairs to ask a security guard there how to purchase a ticket. After innocently and politely asking him, he fined me 80 Euros for not being able to produce a ticket! I clearly wasn't trying to make a made dash for the train for a free ride, I just needed some help, but he wouldn't listen to me at all. It's entirely possible that the guy wasn't even a real guard, or at least may not have been authorized to issue such fines. The slip he gave me didn't have any official looking logos or even a phone number on it. I was so scared I paid him up front, but in hindsight, I realize that was probably a stupid thing to do. I was leaving the country the next day, and there was little chance they'd be able to chase me. Lesson learned! Just be careful and don't wind up in the same situation as me. Good tip?
