Ruovesi Travel Guide

Ruovesi is quite little town 80 kilometers from Tampere. Most people describe it with phrases "middle of nowhere" and "100% wildreness". That may be true, but that does not mean that heres nothing to do to kill time. We do have couple of grocery stores, little shops, hotels and bars where you can spend time. You can do many outdoor activities in Ruovesi, like camping, walking in the forrests, playing football or finnish baseball, swimming...The nature is incredibly beautiful. If you don`t know wheres for example the bank, you can ask almost everyone, because many inhabitans speak english or swedish.

The Art Centre Kalela, open during summers is a truly a place to see. it is the old home and studio of Akseli Gallen-Kallela, one of the greatest painters in the history of Finnish art.

Kallenaution kievari! Id rather stop here for a coffee than at some boring gas station. Unique atmosphere!
