The cathedral is the only thing to do in this town..... Good tip? (+1) Why o why did they build that cathedral on top of the mountain ? Answer me that one... Nevertheless it is worth the climb. Sometimes - when there's not too many people around - you can even drive your car up the hill to the cathedral... or so they tell me. The cathedral is huge and completely in Gothic style. Take a close look at the second gate arch : you will find ancient Egyptian symbols on it. The road leading up the hill is lined with restaurants, antique shops and ... wine shops ! They have a very good local white wine which is both inexpensive and yet tasteful. If you're on your way to or from someplace in France and Vézelay is on the way : just step of for an hour r two. You won't regret it ! Good tip? Good tip? (0)
