There's a side-entrance to the Louvre Museum named Port de Lions. It's located between the Pont du Carrousel and the Pont Royal in the southwing of the museum. If you don't want to wait for hours in line at the pyrmid, this is the way to be in the Louvre in 2 minutes.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
oh Paris so many things to see and do here the best I can reccommend is at least stay here for 4 nights minimum to really get a feel of the city and to experience the wonder of Paris....dont just pass though on a day trip!
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Don't go out in clothese that you would go clubbing in here in the UK, as the Parisians were a lot more laid back with their dressing up and we got a little mauled when we went - this is a tip from Parisian when we had to hide in a night cafe form scary guys!
Paris, Ile-de-France, France

Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Favourite city in the world! If your in Paris for a while try and get out to Versaille! Loads to do in Paris, could easily spend a month here and not see everything there is to see. My tip is just to walk the streets and see what you can find, the best way to get away from the main tourist atractions.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Paris was was sooo cool i went to see the notre dam and it was amazing unfortunately i dont know much history about it but o well i also went to to a really lovely restaurant and had some creme boulaise dont know how to spell it but there you go it was really tasty hmm thats all ive got to say not a very good account but it was a long time ago lol
La Celle-Saint-Cloud, Ile-de-France, France
Cheap place to stay compared to the city center. Good local restaurants.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Learn how to take the Metro. It's the most efficient way to get across the city.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Be brave and get on the Metro and see where it takes you. If you want to visit the Louvre get there really early, as in just before it opens as within a short time the queue will be very long and you could spend hours waiting in line and its a pretty boring wait. Le Tour Eiffel is a must, there are several lifts so find one with the shortest line. For those who get a little excited, there are toilets at the top and for the adventurous there is a pissoir without a door which is quite entertaining:)No visit to Paris is complte without a visit to a show. The Lido is amazing, but book early and get a table close to the front to enjoy the full spectacle.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Even though it's not really a tourist thing, the Gare de Lyon's architecture struck me as awesome. There's a restaurant called the Blue something on top and it looked pretty rad. Also, take the red busses. They may be touristic, but they are cool. If it rains, go down below right away, or you will get soaked like I did.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
visit the sacre coeur basilica on a friday night and listen to the young people playin guitars and singing
Paris, Ile-de-France, France

Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Read a book at the Luxembourg Gardens
Ile de la Cite, Ile-de-France, France
So many museums/interesting sites covered in such a small area. Take Metro line to Cite stop and turn right, you will see the Saint Chapelle and the Conciegerie, and furthur round the corner is Notre Dame. Avoid the cafes in this area, they're seriously overpriced. Walk behind the metro entrance for a beautiful flower market!
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Watch out for the beggars at the bottom of the Eifel Tower! Anyone will try to make money from tourists!
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Paris is such a lovely, romantic city. The Eiffel tower is a must, along with some other historical buildings too!It will be a trip of a lifetime!
Creteil, Ile-de-France, France
Merveilleuse Creteil, à l'architecture sans pareillle...
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Neuilly Park Hotel is a great middle grade hotel with lots of boutique charm in Les Sablons. The neighbourhood is also quiet and quaint with a weekend market filled with a variety of wares. Most importantly, it makes for a great starting point for a walking tour to visit the L'Arc de Triomphe and other sites.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
ontzettend schoon en romantisch
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
If you are spending more than a few days here you should take the time to go on a biking tour of Paris, you get to see the real paris, behind the scenes and closed doors. Highly reccomended!!
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Having a little French up your sleeve goes a long way in Paris, as does an abilty to read the metro maps! The area around Invalides is really lovely and worth checking out if you get the time.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Walk from Sacre Cour to the Eifel Tower - it will take all day, but you will take in most of the best parts of the city...
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Absolutely my favorite place to be in the world so far - J'adore Paris!! Stay in an apartment instead of a hotel if you can - far better experience and you can get a real flavor for the community you stay in. A total town for foodies - La Grande Epicerie in BonMarche is a must - such amazing food you'll never want to leave the store! Be sure to check out La Maison du Chocolat and LaDuree too, they're my favorite sweet shops :)
Paris, Ile-de-France, France

Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Visit Notre Dame at night after a bottle of wine...makes the fire throwers that much more exciting.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Spend heaps of time here; you will not get bored! I found the Eiffel Tower to be better than others had told me, and all monuments are magical and awe inspiring, so do not miss any out. DO NOT give to beggars, even little old ladies, because they tend to work with some not-so-cute partners, who can emerge out of boxes - literally. Be wary of any who approach you with a note, and the question "do you speak English?" This is always a scam, and there are hundreds of them with the same note, who frequent the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame. To avoid them, I liked 'Lo siento, soy de espana' (sorry, I'm from Spain). They don't seem to mess with the Spanish, so I've found :) Oh - be prepared to stop in at all cake stalls - it's well worth it! If you do visit the eiffel Tower, there are often markets close by which sell genuine homecooked french food, which I highly recommend.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
There is a great campsite between Paris and Versaille. It is called Huttopia and is on the metro. We camped out two man tent there for about 4-5 nights. The town of Porchfontaine has a great little patisserie and there is a local market twice a week. http://www.huttopia.com/en/Versailles_The-site
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Paris is gorgeous around the wealthy areas, along the Seine River little market stalls Tour Eiffel sparkles up with thousands of lights on every hour after dark – sensational. Arc Du Triomphe is one crazy round-a-bout!! Louvre took 4 hours to complete, very well worth it – hmm but just not too sure on the authenticity of the Mona Lisa painting though… The bakeries – A mouth waterer. The meringues are a definite must!! Trendy stylish restaurant Amazing Shopping – La Fayette Royal Parade Had a ball putting my French speaking skills to the test :) I loved the feeling of being in Sacré Coeur, all the twinkling candles choir nuns Downsides: Don’t expect to get anything at all for free A decent salad consists of a couple of lettuce leaves I was appalled at the amount of poverty; it saddened me, beggars homeless people of all ages :( Streets are absolutely filthy in the burbs… I don’t wish to describe Overall I would head back to France to experience the countryside.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
If you need a good meeting point, the Place St Michel with its lovely fountain is a good location for the 5th and 6th arrondissement.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
When you're in Paris, don't miss to visit the Disneyland in Marne-la-Vallée - even if you're not the greatest Disney fan, it's a lot of fun!
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
See the Eifle Tower and go on a boat along the Seine River
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Go in the off season - November was perfect! The city is mostly empty of tourists. Take a dinner cruise on the Seine, it was beautiful and the food was amazing! Climb to the top of Notre Dame, you will get amazing pictures of the city and quite a leg workout.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Go to the top of the Arc de Triomphe at night. The City of Lights is spectacular!
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
It can be difficult to find public washrooms. We would go to "Mc Do"; you need the code on the receipt so we would buy small fries to share, or wait until someone else with the code opened the door.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Wouldn't waste money eating in the Eiffel Tower, food's not great... Must visit Sacre Couer "Sacred Heart"... and take an evening boattrip down the Seine - If ur an art fan you must visit Momo.. .the Louvre of course... the other museums.. and if ur a fan of Monet and you have time, you can visit his beautiful home in Giverny.. can't remember how far it is from Paris... I think we stopped there on our way to Normandie... D-Day site, which btw is a powerful place to visit
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
For a huge diversity of food in restaurants go to Rue Mouffetard

Undoubtedly, Paris is one of the most perfect cities in the world. After you've done the museums monuments, enjoy an evening at one of the jazz clubs in the Latin Quarter. And if you're looking for a whole new side of Paris, tour the city's sewers and catacombs! It gives you a whole new perspective on Parisian history and literature.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France

Boulogne-Billancourt, Ile-de-France, France
Go see the Ducati factory and hurry down to Florence!
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
This might be obvious, but if you're going to Paris for the first time and you want to check out the sights, be sure to pick up a Paris Museum Pass. It lets you bypass the lineups and queues to over 60 different museums and monuments including L'Arc de Triomphe, Musée d'Orsay, and the Louvre. You can purchase this pass at the airport, at various museums and at tourist offices around the city.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Across from the Eiffel Tower is a place called Tracadero. Go there in the evening, buy a beer or ten from a street vendor and sit on the steps and meet people from all over the world. Best place for me in Paris.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
I was younger when I went to Paris so I hope to go back again with my honey this time. Paris is one of the most romatic places I been to and it is beautiful. The city itself is very small, I doubt you can even fit a H2 in the streets. Shopping is great but very expensive and the city doesn't really care for english much...
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Try to take a day, and get lost at Montmartre.. People are differernt, more friendly there. spending there a day gives you a true picure of Paris, of its soul, of its art.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Learn the language when you travel I have found over the years that when I travel outside of the country learning a little bit of the language of that country truly enhances the travel experience. Talk to most anyone that has traveled to Paris and most will say, it is amazing the difference of how you are treated when you at least make an attempt to speak the language. My advice? Watch Amelie 10 times in the month before visiting. Not only will the movie inspire you to tears, it will help you pick up the subtle sayings the French are so fabulously famous for. avoir confidence en moi!
Paris, Ile-de-France, France

Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Very Classy and I get ready to shop
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Buy "Paris Museum Pass" then you have free entrance to lots of monuments (incl. Louvre and many more) and you don't have to queue in huge line-ups to every museum.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Even if you speak no French, pick up a short translator's guide and learn how to speak a few phrases that will allow the natives to at least see you're trying. Always say "Bonjour" (or "Bonsoir" depending on the time of day) when you enter a store, and always say "Au revoir, merci" or something similar when you leave.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
When you visit Paris you should come for minimum 2 weeks to have enough time to visit all...
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
DONT DRIVE IN PARIS...........EVER
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
There's always traffic congestion so it'd be better to take Metro...
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
The primate city of France, one of the great cities of history, Paris has far too much to see in any amount of time defined as "short."
Paris, Ile-de-France, France

La Villette, Ile-de-France, France
I stayed at the Ibis Hotel for 3 nights and the view from the room was great. Not the best area-- far from all the sights, but had no problem. Locals very nice! (especially the old woman down at the cleaners!) haha..
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
The best way to take on Paris is by foot! So it might be a little tiresome, i also bought a metro ticket that lasted a few days.. During January there are sales (all over europe) at the gallery/malls! Make sure you brush up on your french or at least attempt to speak it.. everyone is SO much nicer when you try to speak their language, it's amazing.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France

Paris, Ile-de-France, France

Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Get a museum pass!!! The lines are horrific, especially during the summer. This pass allows you to skip everyone and cut in front. Helps save a lot of time so you can do more stuff because there is so much to do!
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
never go to paris in July :))) you'll be sunstruck:))
L'ouvre and the Pyramid are the greatest sightseeings there... pay extra attention to them.

Paris, Ile-de-France, France
To any nieve backpackers like i once was....europe is expensive, ESPECIALLY after just being in south america. So if you want to see Paris on a budget then this is what I suggest. Take the "tube" (underground train) to the farthest south/west/north/east (your choice) of the city. Then get off. By then your a good hour drive from downtown (only 15 min in the "tube") and therefore out of the tourist zone. You can now find really cheap hotels. Bargain as well. After finding the greatest, run-down hotel you can, drop your bags off, go grab a box of wine for $3 and hop on the tube and explore the city. The "tube" is cheap, safe, very easy, and very fast.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Finding parking in Paris is very difficult. Meters and ticket machines (pay and display) are common: make sure you have a supply of EUR.50 coins. If you're planning on spending a lot of time in Paris with a car, buy a parking card (carte de stationnement) for EUR15 or EUR30 at any café displaying the red "Tabac" sign. This card works like a credit card in the parking meters, allowing you to avoid the inconvenience of finding exact change.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
My favority place in Paris http://www.buddha-bar.com/
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Musee D'Orsay is gorgeous, absolutely can't be missed.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Paris is a gorgeous city no one should say that they havent visited it. Go to the Eiffel Tower on a warm day as it is cold at the top
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Public transportation is very good. Don't use taxi - take one of the numerous metro line and get fast from one point to another

Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Absolutely hated it. For someone who got by on speaking French and practically undetected as an American, I thought the people were the most rude, entitled, horrible, and pretentious bunch I have ever met. I can't decide who annoys me more...Parisians or Prague natives.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
If you are planning on going to the Louvre don't go on a Tuesday its closed!!!

Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Pretty dirrty, but has its own spice.:)
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Make sure you see La Sainte Chapelle. It's amazing. Very close to Notre Dame and other sights of interest.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
You really have to see Montmartre and la Rue blanche
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Avoid approaching vendors at the Effiel Tower. Traveling vendors will sometimes take your money with out giving your purchase. Many walk around the Tower area with keychains and little lights. Walk away if you don't want to lose your money. The keychain isn't worth it!
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
If you really want to get to know the whole of Paris, I recommend you to rent a bike (and a guide) to show you the places where you normally would never come.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
vacker stad, men ibland är vissa människor rätt stöddiga. många sevärdheter, t ex eiffeltornet, montmatre och notre dame.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Paris, a town for everyone.. full of artistic places and museum all way down..people are different and car drivers just horrible.. i have been there for holiday each year since i was 3, cause some of my relatives lives there. By some other reasons i visited french school, had some acting shows and went to a teaching school which was teached in english...fun.. but watch out, its dirty, where you go and be careful to your stuff...
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Paris is simply the most wonderful city I have ever visited. It is magical and beautiful, ancient and modern. The best food on the planet. I absolutely love this city!
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Be careful when you travel in paris' Metro, there are a lot of black people and also pick-pockets.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France

Paris, Ile-de-France, France
There is a channel cruise trip that leaves from Austrelitz port next to Bastilla Square each day. Cruise ships goes trough underground channel that connected Siene river and big warehouses in the north part of the city
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Goto Harry's Bar, downstairs is a piano bar and serves the widest selection of whiskies I have ever seen
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Excellent food, beautiful but very expensive shops. Easiest and cheepest way to navigate through the city is by metro. City for the art lovers. Leave at least a day for a visite of the Louvre museum (don't visite on the open door days, rather pay for the entrance fee - less crowdy).
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
paris is beautiest city in the world but no one who lives there speaks english.are thay ignorants or assholes?
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Do not drop any form of food whilst standing under the Eiffel Tower. The pigeons are hungry and plentiful. French fries (le pomme frites) come in a nice little dish with a teeny fork. not ideal if you are looking to avoid the swarm of rabid hungry birdies. use yer fingers!
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Vive le metro, get everywhere fast
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Go the see the impressive tiffany at the top floor of the printemps warehouse.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
A lovely city where you can take a cruise on the Seine, go up the Eiffel Tower, steeped in culture and history make sure you have longer than a day as there is too much to see.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
When visiting the Sacre-Couer in Montmartre, take the stairs on the left side instead of the main entrance ramp on the right side (trodden by tourists). You're less likely to be scammed by the following: a couple of (or a few) people will approach you to show you a "magic trick". What they will do is tie your fingers together with a string and will tell you that they will only cut out the string once you give them money. BTW: Those "magical" dancing disney cardboard characters are not magical...they are well attached to fishing line strings.
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
A lovely city that you will need a few days here to see the sights. Arrive early to the lourve, (a full day needed here) to avoid the queues, same with the eiffel tower where you pay for each level you ascend. enjoy...
Paris, Ile-de-France, France
Paris is most of all a city for tourists. If you're a stereo type, you should defenitely visit the Notre Dame (Ile de la Cité), Eiffel Tour, Montmartre, Arc de Triomphe, Louvre, Champs-Elysées, Sacre-Coeur, la Défense, de Tuileries and the Jardin du Luxembourg. The metrosystem is really good and cheap in Paris, although very busy. The site www.ratp.fr. is the best to find information about this.If you have more time you should check the parcs Parc André Citroën and Parc Bercy. The neighbourhood le Marais is really interesting if you're looking for architecture and bars. The best places to go out in the night (if you're young) are the areas known as Montparnasse and Quartier Latin. More details will follow..

The Parisians can be a bit tough to take sometimes but if you make an effort in French then it's usually appreicated. Learn some French phrases before you go.

Whenever you go to Paris, winter, summer, spring or autumn, it's always a nice city to visit. A tip: don't use the elevator to go to the first and second floor of the Eiffel Tower, use the stairs. Much better for your health and you have nicer views. You must use the elevator to go to the third floor because then there aren't any stairs.

I'm living here right now, Paris is PARIS for tourists, the scenario changes once you've became resident. It's a crowded life on the metro and rainy gray at outdoors. However lookin on the bright side... nite life is quite active, a bit expensive though, but
