Travel Tips from people who've been to Carcassonne
Voila ! Bon voyage !! Good tip? (0) Wonderful city in Languedoc-Roussillon, with a similar feel to other cities nearby like Narbonne and Perpignon ... go to the Indian/Pakistani restaurant there and (if you are Indian/Pakistani) the waiter will get emotional and give you a free bottle of wine with your food ... he gave us a lovely Rosé from the region ... Good tip? (0) The old centre of Carcassone is a must see if you are in the South of France. It is packed with litlle handycraft stores and traditional restaurants.
You get stunning views on the pyrenees and the surrounding parts of France from the walls around. As the citadel is on the top of a hill the views are well worth the climb!
Make sure you try the Cassoulet, the traditional dish from this area. It will fill you up for another walk around the old houses and churches. Good tip? (0)
