The Lorraine American Cemetery less than a mile out of St. Avold was why my family had been in the area. It has over 10,000 of our dead from WWII. The grounds are beautiful, and the people who live in the area have a great respect for the Americans buried there; we met some people who were very glad to meet us, as my Mom has a relative buried there.
