Arromanches-les-Bains is a small town located along the Normandy coastline. It is located along the coastline designated as Gold Beach during the D-Day landings and was captured by the British 231st Infantry Brigade during the first day.

The remains of one of the massive Artificial Mulberry Harbour used by the Allies to offload cargo during the Normandy invasions.   There is also a museum commemorating D-Day here where you can learn more about the landings, see World War II weapons, and watch film footage of the landings.  Travelers visiting the area also visit well-known destinations such as Bayeux and Caen.
