Dixies Bar is a lively place and shows football and most sport when it's on. Club Paradis is pretty cool to meet up with some other tourists for banter and drinks. Cavern Bar is probably the best place to bust a move or so.

If you've alrady seen Paris, then you need to visit the French countryside. The people and food are great and there isn't the hustle and bustle of the big city life.

Great Dowhill runs and only a few people for the transportation system.

Hi, First you need to have a look on a map for take the right way, cause it's on the middle of the mountain and you can be lost easyli. Second, you will find a very quite place, in the middle of the moutain and the beautiful paysage. Third, If you're a sportif guy's you can ski in winter, and walk, run, ride an horse, bycicle, moutain sport..... Fourth, the people living there doesn't speack anything else than french, they love drinking, and eating fat and heavy food, cause in winter it's quite cold...-10 more or less

La Ferme A Dede is one of the best restaurants I have been to in France. They have a wonderful selection of fondue, meats, fish, and salad. If you enjoy the Indie scene head to Chalethotel Hauts de Tovière for great live music and cheap drinks in the evenings.

Ride (sometimes push) your bike from Poyols to Jonchères . Make sure you are wearing goggles and gloves, then ZIP down the switchbacks. Wee!

Train stops here. Connections to ski resorts is done by bus then (very expensive). Hitch-hiking is cheaper and more sucessful during high season. If you stay in the surrounding ski resorts, Bourg-St-Maurice is the best place to run your errands or make your food shopping, on the resort it is at least 20% more expensive (up to 200% on some items)

Don't go to Echenevex if there's no one you want to visit. There's nothing. But near from there is the "source d'Allondon". Great place to have a pick-nick or a little walk in the nature or even to go biking!

Sadly, as most tourist pass through Lyon, on their way from/to Paris, this beautiful town does not get the credit it deserves... But maybe that is also part of its authenticity as it is not as crammed with tourists...
The old town, the roman ruins, the huge Basilica perched atop the hill, the lively center, the intriguing "traboules" (tunnels through the blocks linking the old streets through superb medieval courtyards) are enough to spend a couple of days in the town.
What's more, some districts like The slopes are full of nooks and crannies where you can discover some alternative places which are a lot of fun to hang out at (boardgame cafes, chicha places...) and to be remembered : Lyon is the capital of gastronomy. In my eyes, one of 5 stops that must not be missed in France...
Paris is beautiful but it is not France, more like a tourist living museum.
Lyon is much more representative of France.

Go to the old city up on the hill, visit the old cathedral, admire the buildings that still have wooden hooks under the rafters that were used in silkmaking back in the day, walk the cobblestones and admire the view of the city and river.

Be careful that you are not wearing a Lyon football top, local do not take too well to it markets are good and in the surrounding area in between Lyon and Saint Etienne
