Magnificent Gothic Cathedral in the heart of the old city. Beautiful site surrounded by the gorgeous old town of Bayeaux. Shopping around the site is fantastic. Worth a visit!

Bring your sanitizer wipes when viewing the Bayeux tapestry. The little hand held tour guide things are greased up with foundation and sweat. lovely on a particularly warm day. Also it helps to not go out drinking the night before you visit in regards to retention of the actual history. at least it was pretty...

A tipical historical village of Normandy!In front of the desembarqument beaches. There are some restaurants and hotels. It's good to live there! People are so nice! I miss Meuvaines!!!!

Longues-sur-Mer, Lower Normandy, France
The coastline of Longues-sur-Mer is dotted with the remains of a coastal battery, dating back to WW2. The battery formed part of the Atlantikwall, designed to keep the allies from invading the European mainland. The battery site is easily accessible to visitors; for history/film buffs, it is worth noting that scenes from "The Longest Day" can be spotted here.
