Travel Tips from people who've been to Mont-Saint-Michel
The abbey is simply one of the most beautiful ¨places I've ever visited! It was a dream come true, I dont think the place can let down anybody who loves architecture and history. It's located in a bay and the high tide cuts it off the coast completely, so make sure you won't leave your car anywhere the warning boards recommend not to. Climb up to the abbey and savour walking the crooked narrow lanes beneath it, absolutely wonderful in summer, even if hot and crowded.
Pay attention to high and low tides and where you park...quicksands are around this walled town on a tiny "island". Go to one of the restaurants that offer local lamb chops that are naturally seasoned by the sea grass that they graze on in the area! Delicious!
Try the food at "La Mere Poulard" on the way up to the cathedral at the top of Mont St. Michel.
