Mo'orea, meaning "yellow lizard" in Tahitian is one of the more popular islands within French Polynesia due to its beauty and easy access from Papeete and Tahiti.  Lush mountains rise sharply out of the beautiful turquoise waters while colourful fish await discovery in the shallow lagoons.  Plenty of activities are available as well, from scuba diving and snorkeling in the nearby waters to visiting the marae (sacred sites) to cycling and horseback riding on the island.

Travel Tips from people who've been to Mo'orea
If you are ever close to Mo'orea make sure to go snorkeling with dozens of stingrays (you can touch them) and blacktip reefsharks (you can´t touch them). You can do this on a shallow sandy place near the Intercontinental hotel. You can just swim there from the beach. There´s no need to take an expensive organised tour. It´s best to go there in the morning between 9-11 when the stingrays and sharks are being fed from the many tourist boats that go there. One of the coolest things I´ve ever done.

Alfredo's a typical tourist trap in Polynesia is actually quite entertaining if you go on a Thursday evening.  Ron, an American expat living in Moorea for a few decades entertains guests playing his ukulele and singing...he takes requests and does a great Je ne regrette rien by Edith Piaf.
On the whole food is ok, not true authentic Italian cuisine but good enough.  Their drink menu is excellent, there is a large variety and each one we tried was delicious!

là vous pourrez nager dans le lagon à 2m de profondeur dans une eau limpide au beau milieu de requins à pointe noir, raies et autre poisson aux multiples couleurs.
