Travel Tips from people who've been to Baden-Baden
Baden-Baden is off the beaten path.  Between the wonderous mountains, the quaint cobblestone streets and the beautifully manicured gardens, here you will find a culture that has blossomed since the time of the Romans.

The name means literally 'bath-bath,' and that is not meerely by chance.  The baths are a wonderful way to relax after reaching the peak of the nearby hills, from which you can see for ages into southern France and northern Switzerland.  Or stop by the magnificent casino; better bring your tux, Mr. Bond!

Baden Baden (so nice they named it twice) lies in the foothills of the Black Forest, one of the most spectacular natural areas of Germany. The name comes from the mineral hot springs and you can enjoy them at the Spa and when you are relaxed head for the ritzy Casino. Warning: this is NOT Las Vegas. Dress to impress! If you can afford luxury, stay at the Hotel at the Lichtentaler Allee.

A small thermal pools has been the attraction of people to this city for over two thousand years. The Caracalla baths are excellent. Today Baden-Baden is the home of the rich and retired. Some great hikes around the city in summer and fresh air because it is in the northern part of the Black Forest.
