Ausgangspunkt ist die Gold- und Schmuckstadt Pforzheim.
Von hier aus geht es über Freudenstadt und dem Feldberg nach Basel. Bekannt ist dieser Weg als Westweg von Pforzheim nach Basel. Zeiteinplanung je nach Kondition mindestens 14 Tage. Viele Sehenswürdigkeiten warten auf den Biker. Es gibt hier auch viele ortsansässige Guides.
Die Radtour ist wunderbar und erlebnissreich. Zum Abschluss in Basel noch einen Bummel machen und ein orginal schweizer Raclette zu essen ist die Krönung dieser herrlichen Tour.

In the nearest villages around Pforzheim, close up to the Schwarzwald, I can recommand Hotel "Schönsicht" in Birkenfeld. A real quiet place to be, there's not much activity around it, you can call it sleepy but I liked it : it was neat, you always get a big room, the view was beautiful and the food well served for a neat price. A good place to sleep over on a long trip or to use it as a fall-out basis for your nature trips in the environment.

A smallish city that sits between Karlsruhe and Stuttgart. The inner city area is lovely and peaceful with a stream running through the middle. There are numerous restaurants which have outdoor seating in the summer. Pforzheim is also on the West way which is a path that one can walk to Basel and further to Spain, just like the pilgrims used to do when they wanted to visit Santiago de Compostela.
