Travel Tips from people who've been to Augsburg
youth hostel is new and nice and pricy. good location near the inner city. a pretty good value. plus: the city of augsburg is fantastic: the european reformation took place also in this city. martin luther had to answer tough questions while in this city. that started the whole reformation thing. see a lot of places where he stayed. today augsburg is a model of two different confessions living together peacefully. Good tip? (0) Augsburg is my birth town. A nice student town with about a quarter million inhabitants. Long history with one of the richest trading families. The Fugger financed most of the town and its famous buildings like the Perlach Tower and the Town Hall. Nightlife is great through little basement bars and a lot of young people. Have fun & Enjoy the City Good tip? (0) This is the place to stay when going to Oktoberfest in Munchen. It is a fraction of the cost and only about a 30 min train ride from the "Fest". Good tip? (0)
