Travel Tips from people who've been to Garmisch-Partenkirchen
If you get the opportunity go to the Partnachklamm Gorge. It's amazingly beautiful especially in the winter. Most trips to there first will bring you to the Winter Olympic Stadium used by Hitler in 1936. The trail gets a little slippery, but the view is amazing. Also their are fantastic little restaurants at both the begining of the trail and at the end of the loop.

If you have a little money to spend and are looking for a great meal go to Zum Wildschütz in Garmisch-Partenkirche. When I went there I had Venison Sausage and broiled wild boar; it was worth every penny. The atmosphere is fantastic and they have a good selection of German beer on tap.

* Note: They do not accept Credit Cards.

The best time to visit Garmisch Partenkirchen, for those who are not funs of winter sport, is summer. Something that should not be missed is Partnach Gorge. 20 min walk from the old Olympic Stadium there is a real wonder of nature.
