Marburg is a wonderful city, with a old town part and a castle on the top with a fantastic view ofer the area. But don't try to work there with High heels! Everything is cobblestoned and it is very hilly - but you'll love it! To get to the old part (the higher part) you can use the elevator "Oberstadtaufzug" The difference in altitude are about 100 meters. But to the top of the hill where the castle is you have to work or take the Bus No.16 from the Marketplace "Marktplatz".
Have a graet time in Marburg!

If you're looking for quiet introspection on Marburg's gothic architecture, or to walk along the city's hilly shopping streets and medieval alleys unperturbed, it is best to avoid the school season. The town empties one-third of its population when the college kids go home for the summer. Max Planck Institute is close by and the university has been top-notch for centuries. The city also has nature. Otherwise, party hardy when school starts in September.

Don't worry too much about learning German as English is taught very well to almost everyone. However learning a few things does give a better impression. The Gereman's like the French are very polite so it's important to remember please (bitte) thank you (danke) and your welcome (also bitte)
