10 things to do in Frankfurt/Main. 1. Alte Römer Kirche and plaza. 2. Walk along "Mainkai" and across Eiserner Stieg bridge. 3. Sachsenhausen for old houses and nightlife. 4. Botanic Gardens. 5. Zeil for your shopping and people watching. 6. Alte Brücke for a great view of Frankfurt City, try for an early morning picture or an Afternoon with sunset behind the City. 7. Get to the top of Kaufhof (Hauptwache) for another view of inner City. 8. Museum of modern Art and Alte Oper. 9. Frankfurt Zoo. 10. Bornheim for the young people, cool restaurants and bars there. Make sure you try an Appel-Wein in Frankfurt/Main. Enjoy your visit in the Bank of Europe City or the mini Manhatten as the lokals like to call it.

There's really not much to do and see in Kronberg itself - this is basically a place where rich old people go to die.
However it is a good base for hiking into Taunus, e.g. to the "Großer Feldberg"

There are a lot of Military people here- its a nice city if your moving with the military to Germany- It's one of the nicer ARMY areas. There is also an awesome 18 hole golf course just down the autobahn from Wiesbaden. When we lived on Rhein-Main - this was the closest BX or PX and movie theatre. , Interacting with Locals

If you can, avoid their railway station before 06.00h. You will fill very bad because there is nothing to do there, police is everywhere and you won't like people whom you see there.

I would reccomend people to go and check out the great Improvisation Troupe "Subito". They normally perform in a cultural centre called Thalhaus. The address of the Thalhaus is Nerotal 18, 69193 Wiesbaden. Anyway, you can check the Subito Website at http://www.subitotheater.de

OMG what a city what culture.... Totally awesome! Stayed in the centre of Frankfurt in the Stiegenburger Hof 'WOW' this Hotel is 130 yrs old and just breathtaking can imagine it all that time ago.... Huge Spacious, staff extremely obliging and friendly. Perfect location we walked everyday to all of our touristy things in the city along the Rhein river....

Old Town, Palmen Garten and some interesting museums like the Archeological museum

If you ever get a chance to go to germany please do not waste it by being in the house or the hotel. Get out and walk and you will be surprised some of the things that you find. Do not be affaird that no one can understand you believe me english is a language that alot of other cultures learn. plus if you can't find someone that speaks english believe me they will try to help you as much as they can even if the do not speak english. if you have a chance to go enjoy everymoment of it. remember to dress worm espacially if going around october. Try there food as well they are wonderful cooks

this ia a great city to go do during winter time because of all the people, food, and culture shown. The German Christmas market is open and it is a great place to get german gifts for friends, family or loved ones.

CAFE
There is a wonderful cafe, gastro pub, called "21. Jahrhundert" (meaning 21st Century). The chef is creating every time some of the most tasteful food, you can imagine and breakfast on the weekends is available till late evening. You will get a list to chose from, once you ticked all the boxes with the items you want to receive, the waiter will pick it up and not long after you will be more then delighted with your choices...By the wy you will probably come across a guy at the bar called kalin, an old friend and living in my old flat just around the corner :)

Sightseeing for peace seekers
If you want to have a more laid back day, then do not miss to make your way to the westend of the ciy and visit the "Palmgarten". This very beautiful landscaped area invites you to chill out and you can see a lot of exotic plants, whilst breathing probably the freshest air that you can get in a city.

Nightlife
Frankfurt is known for its famous clubs worldwide, which will allow you to join a night out with some of the biggest Dj´s in business. Of course there are a lot of Hardcore clubs and House clubs as Cocoon (Sven Väth), U60, but there are so many clubs opening all the time and there is a variety of other music directions on offer, th ebest thing is to check out free magazines like "Fritz" to keep yourself updated.


Try to keep away shopping on "Zeil", which is one of the famous shopping miles, you won´t be able to afford anything on "Goethestraße", so no need to look there for a bargain. You will find anything on Zeil and unfortunately another couple of hundered other idiots, who are running all over the place, if that is not really after your taste, you should go to "Bornheim", which is a beautiful student like area with a bunch of good cocktail bars, cafes and restaurants and of course you can do all essential shopping there. I f you look for some new affordable designers, then try " Berger Strasse" and you will not leave home disappointed.

Another hint for the travellers that are watching out to invest there money in booze, you can save up to 50% in Happy Hours in Bars. Usually Happy Hours are from 5-7pm. And you will fid it a great relieve to know that you will not find one bar, closing the shutters at 11pm!

The craziest airport in my life. Just a head's up. You will be confused in this airport, and you'll probably almost get hit airport security on bikes.

Hirschhorn, is located in the Hessen Region of Germany. The most oustanding building here is Schloss Hirschhorn, which at one point in history was a powerful castle. This lasted for about 400 years and it was ruled by the Knights of Hirschhorn for generations. The knights built the castle around the year 1200 on the mountain named "Stockelberg". This castle weathered history and has remained relatively intact, quite a piece of architecture and ambiance, it is located above the village of Hirschhorn. Presently it is used as a Castle restaurant and hotel, which has 25 rooms. It also has an outdoor terrace for dining, were one can view the village of Hirschhorn below and the beautiful Neckar river valley. There are many activities for the outdoors minded individual, from hiking to boating, climbing, and golf as well as the opportunity to explore the small quant villages that rest in the river valley. What I really enjoy about Schloss Hirschhorn is its charm and majesty. Also sitting on the terrace and watching the town and river below is very relaxing.

Very friendly new youth hostal, just try to reservate on time because a lot a big groups spend their holiday their. Great area for walking sporting. In the meantime an old barok city to relax. Also stayed in a Gasthof the second time with friendly people.

Scams run rampant. If someone asks you to buy them a drink, you had better know what they are asking you to pay before they place the order; they could work for the establishment and cahrge whatever they think you are worth for probably tap water. As a general rule, if you seek something out or find something on your own to buy, great; if someone approaches you concerning anything related to money changing hands, just say no.

I lived in Germany back in the eightys, I am pretty sure it changed a lot since then, for better for sure , I like it back then and I am sure I will like it today.

If you have a connective flight and have some time, go and visit tiny old town of Frankfurt.. it is really nice (though small).

Spent part of summer 1990 in and around Grebenstein. Very cute, quaint town. My favorite spot was an Italian ice cream shop in the center of town.

J'ai habitais a Frankfurt. Village avec grasciels. Architecture bombardee durant la 2 GM est totalement detrute. Des mouvement "nimporte comment" sont en mode dans la construction. Pour visiter-- Alteoper et le centre, Rathhaus, Main. Sur le Zeilgallerie on peu observer une belle vue sur la ville.

Be sure to check out www.bahn.de for train tickets in Germany...the government decides the fares, so the price you see is the best you will get. I find it often has cheaper train fares than other websites/options. The only catch is that you can only book tickets up to three months in advance.
