Travel Tips from people who've been to Lower Saxony Region
Definately would say that as a 15 yr old traveling alone i learned quick and learned things the hard way. The variety of cultures and backgrounds behind the people you assume to be locals are amazing. Just sitting at the bar with a smile on your face encourages others to strike up a conversation with you. Although my knowledge of German was limited.. it was surprising how many people are comprehendable in English. I'd met many people who originated from my home country or other places i'd visited. In any case, one thing i wish i'd been careful about was divulging too much information and seeming too interested in conversing with both men and women. Best way to learn as you will remember those touch and go situations for the rest of your life and will never repeat the same mistake again. In any case.. better to take the advice of others and learn from others.. better to learn off someone else's mistakes than your own truth be told.
Good tip? (0) I'm a Hanoverian lady and quite a sight to see, no? ;-) and it's only one hour to Hamburg resp. one hour and a half to Berlin. Plus, we've got ancient history that links us to the brits - from Hanover to London by plane in about one hour... and back to the 17th history. Some George the ... was king of Hanover and the nowadays U.K. - that's why we got the Royal Gardens here, worth seeing. And the "Welfenschloss" (George was one of them) - which is now the main University. Disclaimer: Don't pin me against the wall if the historical facts aren't perfectly accurate. Thanks for your understanding and come and visit! P.S.: If anyone from abroad wants to learn german or study in Germany - Hanover is the place to be: Wir sprechen Hochdeutsch :-) Good tip? (0) Ok... I'm just going to be honest. Worpswede is the dumbest, stupidest, most boring town I have ever seen. It's supposed to be an old artist colony, but the art is crap. Some of it is displayed extremely poorly, but that doesn't even start to say how little talent and ability comes out from this little town. If you are going to be in an artist colony, wouldn't you expect good art? Not here! It's all poorly painted landscapes from the very boring flat lands of the area. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME! TURN BACK WHEN YOU CAN! Good tip? (0)
