Lower Saxony Region Dos and Don'ts

Like any other city in Germany, Hannover is a good place and stop to take. Loads of greenery to absorb the people are friendly [ dont be fooled by te hard exteria] A must stop is the animal sactuary up on the mountains and plaease leave a donation the animals there really need all the support. Public transportation [ like it is everywhere in Germany] is very good so you will never be lost or destitute

I went to school in Emden for a year, and spent some part of almost every day walking around. There is a great bike path along the city wall, a great farmer's market three days a week, and lots of small local stores. There are some interesting places to see, like the ruins of a church that was bombed in World War 2, a museum inside City Hall, and another one in a WW2 bunker/bomb shelter. Best of all the museums is the Henri Nannen art museum.

Definately would say that as a 15 yr old traveling alone i learned quick and learned things the hard way. The variety of cultures and backgrounds behind the people you assume to be locals are amazing. Just sitting at the bar with a smile on your face encourages others to strike up a conversation with you. Although my knowledge of German was limited.. it was surprising how many people are comprehendable in English. I'd met many people who originated from my home country or other places i'd visited. In any case, one thing i wish i'd been careful about was divulging too much information and seeming too interested in conversing with both men and women. Best way to learn as you will remember those touch and go situations for the rest of your life and will never repeat the same mistake again. In any case.. better to take the advice of others and learn from others.. better to learn off someone else's mistakes than your own truth be told.

Diepholz may be small, but there's beautiful nature around and old castle where they used to make coins. Really nice place. I wish to get back there to that kind people!!

beautifull city. go and have a look at the Schnoorstrasse. have a peek in the St. Paul cathedral. Visit the great wind mill. Check out the 'Universum'-museum.
