Lower Saxony Region History
Travel Tips for History of Lower Saxony RegionHannover, Lower Saxony Region, Germany I'm a Hanoverian lady and quite a sight to see, no? ;-) and it's only one hour to Hamburg resp. one hour and a half to Berlin. Plus, we've got ancient history that links us to the brits - from Hanover to London by plane in about one hour... and back to the 17th history. Some George the ... was king of Hanover and the nowadays U.K. - that's why we got the Royal Gardens here, worth seeing. And the "Welfenschloss" (George was one of them) - which is now the main University. Disclaimer: Don't pin me against the wall if the historical facts aren't perfectly accurate. Thanks for your understanding and come and visit! P.S.: If anyone from abroad wants to learn german or study in Germany - Hanover is the place to be: Wir sprechen Hochdeutsch :-) Good tip? (0) Oldenburg, Lower Saxony Region, Germany Oldenburg is simply my favorite city in Germany. Go shopping in cobble-stoned Downtown, a strictly pedestrian center for culture, music and history. Cafes line the streets, with a weekly farmers market featured in Julius Mosen Platz. Everything is within bike riding distance and the city is easy to navigate. Good tip? (0) |
