Schwerin Travel Guide

If you like to visit castles, Schwerin is definately a must see. There is so much to see as you get to walk throughout the rooms in the castle from the throne room, the dining room, and the room with paintings of German Fuersts (kings). I seem to remember there being a really cool spiral staircase somewhere in the castle too. To get the complete experience at the Schweriner Schloss, walk the grounds around the castle and take in the different views. It's also nice to stop inside the Garten Grotte and look out over the lake which is right there. You may even see some swans.

Schwerin is one of the most beautiful cities in Mecklenburg-Pommerania in the northeast of Germany. Don't miss the castle incl. the huge park. One tip: it is a great place to rollerblade, especially in spring and fall. You can do lots of recreation. The Schwerin Lake is great for rowing, canooing, sailing, etc.
