Travel Tips from people who've been to Wuppertal
I know this city upside down.
You should only go if you have me with you.
You must ride the Schwebebahn once, from
Vohwinkel to Oberbarmen.
Then there are plenty of hookah bars, discos, and nice places to just relax and have a beer or for me, a mojito.
The best place to go is Hardt Park.
It's a big park in the middle of the city, way up in the hills, where everybody goes to hang out.
Also, visit the section of Wuppertal that I lived in,
Cronenberg, meaning "Crown Mountain".
The 25 minute bus ride up to the top is great, and once you arrive there you'll find a what you've always pictured a German town to look like.

Travel with our world famous Suspension Railway through the green City. If you are interested in arts and culture you should come here in pass your time either in our  Stadthalle, Schauspielhaus, restaurated Opera House or museums (e. g. von der Heydt Museum). Wuppertal is centrally located. You can travel to Dusseldorf or Cologne by train with a maximum travel time of 30 minutes.

You should definitely take a trip with the "Schwebebahn". Just because its the only transportation of its kind anywhere. In 1950 they used it to transport an elephant (google Tuffi, Wuppertal if you don't believe me) who was so excited that it jumped out and fell into the river "Wupper" below...
