There are two things Moritzburg is famous for: its castle and its horses! Both are definitely worth seeing!
The first, Schloß Moritzburg, was the setting for many films, the most well-known of them in Germany is "Drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel" - the 1970s film of Cinderella and it has to be the most shown movie on German tv over Christmas.
The horses ... well, Moritzburg is the home to one of the most famous stud farms, which shows every year in September its variety of horses and skills - it's called Moritzburger Hengstparade.
It's close to Dresden and Meißen as well as to Saxon Switzerland and is therefore perfect for short trips or longer holidays.
