For youth its a great place in causes of the Holiday Camp for children and teenagers.
Theres also a nice park in town with a beautiful summerfestival every year.

Meissen is a little town in Saxony, but famous for its porcelaine manufactury. Just a short ride away from Dresden, the visit of the manufactury is a must. The city centre is very nice and if you do have enough money, buy one of the fantastic porcelaine.

Saxony Region Health

Dresden is a town with a historic past. Completely distroyed during WWII it has been rebuilt. The "Zwinger" and the "Semper" opera are musts to see. A very efficient public transport system with modern trams. And old steamboats on the Elbe River. Eat the Dresdner Stollen, mainly at Christmas and buy some of the famous Meissner porcelaine.

I stayed in Chemnitz in Decembre 2002 for one day. Chemnitz has a beautiful christmasmarket. It is in a big area around the church in the centre. I think, chemnitz has lots of interesting things to see, too. But I didn´t have enough time to see more...
