Wacken, during the year a small quiet town about 75 kilometers (50 miles) north of Hamburg with about 2000 habitants. But for the first week in august the population increases to 75'000 people because of the biggest Heavy Metal Festival worldwide. You can take the train from Hamburg to Itzehoe and take the shuttlebus to Wacken. If you travel by Car on the Motorway use the exit Schenefeld, Wacken. It has 2 Supermarkets, Petrolstations, Pharmacy and 2 Banks with ATM. The people of Wacken are the friendliest you can find and are always looking forward to meet new visitors. At the festival there is a huge campsite but you can also bring your motorhome. So if you like Heavy Metal, this is the place to be in August.

Little German village in the North, which gets invaded by Metalheadz from all over the world once a year during the Wacken Open Air. A travel-must for Metal fans. The locals are friendly and prices outside the festival area cheap.
