One thing about Athens, u need to get used to it, that temperature there is much higher then most north countries, witch means , in the morning (read 07:00) temperature can be up to 30C. Always have cold water next to u! It is long walk trought town and guess what?! Its worth every mile!

One thing to watch out for when you visit Athens in a rainstorm is the slipperiness of the streets.  The whole \city, if you look carefully, is built on marble.  Sidewalks are marble.  The streets are made of crushed marble.  You can break your neck after a quick afternoon shower.

The best nightlife lasting till the next morning! Don't forget to have something to eat while enjoying the sunrise! The locals are very friendly, they always try to help and generally tha all speak english.You will visit the Acropolis, Plaka neighbourhood and tha National Museum, but don't forget the modern side of life. Athens is a human city where you enjoy living. The best season to visit Athens is during spring when the temperatures are not very high and Christmas time when everything is decorated and the city looks very beautiful. Tasty food is easy to find and it is safe to eat almost everywhere. Athens is not very green but we are making an effort to improve our environment. You should also visit the suburbs either by the sea, or towards the mountains. Tha climate is generally cool or cold in winter (it doesn't rain very often but in February or in March it snows), dry and hot in the summer. Spring and automn are cool with some rainy days. It's easy to exchange money (if you don't have euros) in any bank, that you can find in any corner or at the exchange offices. Transportation is good, you can use the metro, buses, the tramway which will take you everywhere. You can also shop a lot. Greek fashion and clothes are elegant and chic and people are generally well dressed. athens is the best place to be!its a historical city with a lot of sightseeing, endless nightlife, the most delicious fodd and of course the best weather!

Greece is really beautiful, breath taking country... and of course the capital -Athens. In Athens are a lots of monuments (the biggest and the best - Akropolis) , activities (bars, clubs, tavernas) and etc. In restaurants - it's quite expensive, but in shops - normal (for example: juice (1.5 L - 1.05 EUR), bier (small - 0.60 EUR), water about 1 EUR and etc). Yuo schoud go to "Mpouzouki" (it's a traditional place, evening with greek dances, traditional music, food - very nice). Alkohol - one of the best is raki, also rakoumela (raki vodka+hot honey). The people are very friendly and helpfull, so don't be afraid - just ask about what yuo want! The best weather is on September (not too hot). Very good Trainservice and quite cheap (Athens - Thessaloniki - 15 EUR).
