Can get really hot during summer so pack lightly.
The metro network is pretty good and recently started to operate till 2a.m. on Saturday nights.
Lots of things to see besides the Acropolis and the Parthenon.
Especially downtown Athens there are plenty of clubs and bars that stay open till VERY late.

Never hesitate to ask a greek for info...most of them speak at least basic english Use the metro as your primary transportation as it is the only way to know where you will end up and when...Athens can have serious traffic jams! Walking is only suggested at the center of the city.
The best sightseeing walk in Athens is; Syntagma, take Ermou street all the way to Thisseion then Apostolou Pavlou untill Acropolis and then Dionisiou Aeropagitou till it's end where the metro station Acropolis is. It can even better be done the otherway...Definately stop at Thisseion for a coffee with a view of the Parthenon, best time at sundown...
