Once you're in Edessa you shouldn't miss the mountain Kaimaktsalan. It's name comes from the fact that it's top is covered with snow, like kaimaki. You can stay in Agios Athanasios, a traditional and cosy village. At the top of Kaimaktsalan is a small church of Profitis Ilias. From this spot, where the borders of Hellas and Scopje are, you can see both sides. If you're lucky and the weather is good you can see the gulf of Thermaikos as well as the mountain Olympos.

Litochoro is situated on Olympus mountain, the highest in Greece, which was the home of 12 gods acording to ancient Greeks. Therefore the temperature is lower than the lowlands, so you should better bring some heavy clothing.

Good hot climate, great for bathing. Beautiful clean beaches surrounded by green. Good restaurants, tasty Greek food. Few clubs, not the best place is one wants first-rate night life, but dancing and drinking can go until morning hours. Serenity environments, best choice for people that want relax holidays. Good place for kids also. One needs car to travel around, public transportation is almost unexcitable.
