Greece History

Ancient Greece have a very special place in my heart and you can feel the history when you visit Acropolis!! Unfortunately you can't get really close to the temples...but when it is to preserve the temples it is worth it! History is very important but remember to walk down to the plaka area were you can get the feeling of the greek culture as it is now...There are shops, restaurants and of course tourist but it is all good!

Ancient history and art lovers will find plenty to do here. The museum holds the best examples of Minoan art and artefacts in the world.

Corinth generally attracts 2 main types - the ancient history lover and the religious nutcase. This means you need to choose your timing carefully - avoid all Christian religious periods and peak wedding seasons (remember the most popular wedding verse from the bible? It comes from the second book of Corinthians), and try to visit during exam times (they are surprisingly similar between countries) when students definitely won't be on international field trips...

The Corinth canal was first concieved in 602 B.C. and finally realized in 1893 A.D. some 2495 years later. Finally completed in correlation with the Suez Canal. It is a remarkable piece of history.
