One of the most northerly settlements in Greenland, Qaanaaq is a town of roughly 600 inhabitants, in which hunting seals, polar bears, birds, narwhals and walrus are still a part of traditional life.  The town of Qaanaaq was first established in the 1950s as a US airbase, and glaciers are located within close walking distance.
