Greenland, Greenland
Life is generally conducted at a more relaxed pace than is usual in northern Europe, as exemplified by the frequent use of the word immaqa – ‘maybe’. Until recently, foreign visitors were very rare. The name of the country in Greenlandic is Kalaallit Nunaat , meaning ‘Land of the People’. Photography: Throughout the country there is a ban on taking photographs inside churches or church halls during services. A UV or skylight filter and a lens shade should always be used. In winter, the camera must be polar-oiled. It is advisable to bring your own film. Film cannot always be developed in Greenland

Nuuk, Vestgronland Region, Greenland
Nuuk, the capital of Greenland, where the old and the new are united in a unique and dynamic way. These people are cousins to the Eskimos in Alaska. There you see alot of the northern lights, icebergs and... rocks.

Kulusuk, Ostgronland Region, Greenland
Great helicopter ride from Kulusuk to Ammassalik - when we left for the airport there was a massive wind storm - the helicopter was blowing to 90 degree angles perpendicular to the ocean below and the cliff next to us in succession - with four people stuffed against the glass in the back seat I just sat back and assumed it was like a roller coaster ride and the pilot being 60 must have known what he was doing to be alive having dealt with those Greenlandic weather conditions many times in the past - then it was fun!

Sisimiut, Vestgronland Region, Greenland
My Greenland favorite town. Lovely location at the Disco Bay with the most scenic hospital location that I have seen. Things to do: Fishing with the locals, go to the ice brea, go to the icecap, visit the museum and birthplace of Knud Rasmussen. Take AUL towards Nuuk for an unforgettable trip along the coast. Clearly a place to come back to...

Must visit the innuit museum. i bought some innuit art greetings cards and have them framed in my front room. they look gorgeous. the roofs are covered in turf for eco friendly insulation. very sparsly populated. the children run to greet you as you come off ship, (this is a port). At the museum you can enter a reconstructed eskimo home. the history is amazing.
