Situated on the west coast of Greenland, Iluissat is the third largest settlement of Greenland, about 200 kilometres north of the Arctic circle.   03118Ilulissat is one of the most enchanting and incredibly beautiful places I've ever seen till now!! It represents one of the most wonderful and most beyond words experiences of my life. One you visit Ilulissat you shall have a boat trip through the huge icebergs floating at the estuary of the immense glacier river, which moves 30m per day!! Than you shall have long walks through the city and go up on the mountain where you can observe the entire glacier and icebers...such breathtaking view!!! The inhabitants are very friendly and extremely nice people, ready to smile and to talk. Definitively an unique and very special place. You should be well equipped with warm clothing and hiking shoes. It is perfectly normal if it rains or snows, it is authentic if it is foggy, so do not complain about harsh weather conditions!!! You can go to Quequertarsuak on Disco Island from here, either by boat or by helicopter. The boat takes quite long and be prepared for sea-sickness. You're almost guaranteed to get it... Good tip?
