One of the official U.S. territories, Guam is part of the Mariana islands. This island offers a number of creature comforts from fine resorts, golfing and fine dining locations to outdoor excursions and scuba diving opportunities. History buffs can visit many historically significant landmarks, from petroglyphs and Latte Stone pillars created by the Chamorro, Guam’s indigenous inhabitants, to the War in Pacific National Historical Park to numerous Forts and Shrines. The melting pot of Chamorro, Micronesian, American and Asian influences is sure to offer something for everyone here.  The island’s duty free status make it a happy shopper haven too.

This cathedral is one of the best churches I've been in. It has the classic cathedral style.

I'm not a big fan of Guam. All the native species are gone, and most of the commercial areas are strip malls. It's a great place to get a tattoo, though.

Populace is for the most part, extremely friendly. Prices are for the most part extremely high. Great place as a visitor, shitty place as someone who has to work there. For example as a Seabee. Great place to take pictures though if you go out of the city areas.

Harmon Village, Guam
Go to Shirley's Cafe. It's a good place to eat and the food they serve there is great!

If you want a cultural experience in Guam, go to the Chomorran Villiage on Wednesdays, meet some people grilling chicken. Make friends with them, and get them to invite you to the cock fights, which is on Friday nights. Eat some Lumpia at the fights, bet a little money, and cheer for your favorite bird!

Guam has it all. You have wonderful beaches that have so much to look at while you snorkle. The fish swim around you and the coral is beautiful! I spent most of my time in the water at Tangessen and on the Navy port. The night life is endless. Every club you can think of is here. Its never a dull night. You can get the best BBQ downtown. Bring a camera, swimsuit and your club clothes and have a great time.

Tumon, Guam
Well, what can I say? Tumon is like the little cosmopolitan that could, or couldn't....it depends on your perspective of things. Tumon is the tourist center of Guam. If you must have your dose of Louis Vuitton, Gucci, or whatever brand name must-have, then head on to the Duty Free Shopping Center. Just don't mind the gaggle of Japanese tourists though. The nightlife is something else. Unlike most cities or quaint villages, there are no pubs in Tumon. You either get loud, smoky dance clubs or loud smoky nudie bars. I think people here don't like to hear themselves think and the excessive audio assault coupled with the booze and the fags is a temporary form of catharsis. And also, if you can't stand drunk, military douche bags, then find something else to do. Be careful of butterfaced women. There's a reason why the night clubs are so dark and the street lights haven't been paid for. Tumon also has some good places for grub. Stick to the hole in the walls. My favorite restaurants are Ban Thai and Old Town Chinese Restaurant. If you want to gorge yourself, head on to the buffet table at Cafe Kalachucha found in the Westin Hotel.

This is Guam's downtown area. Avoid the Guam Public School System building. You'll feel your brain cells commit hara kiri. Check out the huge latte stone right by the park.
