For those travelling further into the country from Conakry can find decent places to stay here - like the Mariador Hotel.  A bit rundown, but still adequate rooms.  The restaurant has seen its glory days but can still fix you a steak or chicken with french fries if you want to wait the time it takes.  Better is to stop by one of the eateries where the local truck drivers eat - as long as it's hot you probably won't get sick :)
