Haiti What to Expect
Cap-Haitien, Northern Haiti, Haiti The sewers that run in front of the buildings are used for all forms of disposal, but are often played in by the children. Meat is available from traveling wheelbarrow salesman. The rules of the road are basically non-existent, and driving is not recommended for non-locals. You should definitely have a local guide for any travels in this part of Haiti. Good tip? (0) Ouanaminthe, Northern Haiti, Haiti Really not too much here. The French Red Cross is up here, as well as an airfield that Missionary Flights International uses. Fresh water problems, as evidenced by the three community wells located in the center of town, only one of which worked as of April 2007. The salt flats on the road to Gonaives are the most interesting things to see around Anse Rouge. Good tip?
