1306the drive to hana is great but the town is an absolute bore. keep driving past is for about 30 minutes and you will come to the haleakala NP. it costs a couple bucks to get in but go trek the pipiwhi trail. it's got some great views and at the end is a 400 ft waterfall. the trek will take about 2 hours for those that are in shape.

02419Hana is a MUST if you ever go to Maui. The road that takes you there makes you sick :-) but it's absolutely worth it!! Take a walk up to Waimoku Falls, they're gorgeous!! We loved the bamboo forest! Later you can have a swim in one of the "Seven Sacred Pools"... Makes a perfect day!!

0526The two local general stores have a surprising variety...post office can be tough to find, but it is there, between the two general stores. Don't be afraid to keep driving and go see the Seven Sacred Pools at the end of the highway.
