Travel Tips from people who've been to Lahaina
While in Lahaina, one must definitely try the Mixed Plate Grill.  When my friend and I arrived in Lahaina, we saw many advertisements directing us to the restaurant but we wondered about the quality of the food since it was served on a paper plate.  Towards the end of our week-long stay, we decided to venture out an try it...and we weren't disappointed!

My friend had the Aloha Mixed Plate ($8.75) which came with shoyu chicken, teriyaki beef, mahi mahi, and the traditional two scoops of rice and a scoop of macaroni salad.  I ordered the BBQ Mixed Plate ($9.25) which was composed of teriyaki chiken, teriyaki beef, kalbi rib, two scoops of rice and a scoop of macaroni salad.  By the end of the meal, we wondered why we didn't come here earlier!

The food was affordable, the view was gorgeous, and we let full and happy!

Halloween In Lahaina!!! It's Huge!!! They shut down the whole street and there is no parking in the Front St. for that reason. Almost all hotels will have a shuttle that takes you right to the city but if yours doesn't chances are one close to you will. If you feel you MUST drive then there is some parking on the side street, but practice aloha and ask before parking in front of someones house. You don't want to tick off the locals. Also watch out for the alcohol check points if your driving. They WILL stop everyone so make sure that someone in your group is sober or leave the car and come back for it tomorrow.

When you visit Lahaina town on Maui, you are exposed to the area's rich history and its present day tourist trap qualities at the same time.

If you are not there on your honeymoon, you might feel like you are one of the few. You can spend all your money on forgettable tee shirts and such or you can wander a bit and delve further into the area's past.

For a good and cheap meal, try Cheeseburger in Paradise.
