Waimea area, specially Waimea Bay, is great! If you get a chance, go there when sea is stormy. What a view!
If you happen to see a small white(?) truck driving around, smelling really good, try to catch them and buy their special shrimp dish that is MOST DEFINITELY out of this world!
Trust me, you cannot get any better dish than that, anywhere, ever.=)
(I wish I hadn't lost their phone number. And, I think I will move to O'ahu just because of their shrimp dish!!!)
It's fun and cheap to take a bus ride there. The cool thing about buses in Hawai'i is that people are very friendly and curious, so you will always have someone to talk to both in stops and aboard.
It's a great way to get "inside view" from people who live on the island.
Hawai'ian people are just lovely! Maybe the coolest ppl in entire America?
