Travel Tips for Dos and Don’ts in Honduras

Utila, Carribean Honduras, Honduras
Utila is a great place if you want to dive on the cheap.  Utila Dive Shop is one of the oldest places on the island to learn how and they have a good reputation and great instructors.  The BBQ across the road is yummy with lage portions for those after dive munchies.  Stay at the Mango Inn - it has its own pool and pizza, too.  The locals are friendly and there are lots of travelers to meet.  Just make sure you hide your passport and valubles or lock them away if you can.  Sometimes the locals break in to the bungalows that are closest to their own neighborhoods.  It happened twice while I was there for a week.

Leave Tegu for the interior ideally the Olancho Dept. It is considered the "Wild West" of Honduras by the Honduran people.
