Amazing place in the middle of the mountains. I was there during huricane Mich, when the houses were passing me in the river below. After restauration the restaurants were in business again. I ate some wonderfull food in this city. The best ever tenderloin I have eaten in the world. In the traditional restaurants I loved the beans with cheese on a small charcoal burner. Some good memories and the people were nice. The hotels were good to very good.

If you stay at the Intercontinetal in Tegucigalpa than you should defently get some of their sangria. Although, word of warning after drinking said sangria don't climb ont he roof... it isn't a nice roof to be on to begin with and the way down seems to lead you right into the guards office... and they have guns! Stupid Americano seems to work to get them to keep from shooting you.

As for most central american capitals... dont stick around too long. Rather noisy, dirty and ... grey... I would recommend to go up to the "valle de los angeles", which is close by and very cute. I have no idea about public transportation, as i personally hitch-hiked, which in this particular city was quite a hassle.... make sure you are at the right exit!!!!
