Planning a Trip to Honduras

One of our options for shore excursions on our cruise was speedboating in the sea. It was the best time I've ever had!

One of the best dive spots in the Caribbean, and cheap (10 dives US$20 a dive typically). Catch the ferry from La Cieba, get a taxi to West End. There are tons of funky little bars and restaurants, and a lot of dive schools, which encourages competition. I used Coconut Tree Divers, and I can't recommend them highly enough. Oh, and because Roatan was settled by slaves dumped by the British, everyone speaks English not Spanish. Only downside I could find was that the beach has a lot of sandflies.

Copán ruinas, beautiful archaeological site. The town itself is also nice, cool, calm, relaxing....

To Utila island there are two ferries a day:
9.30 am and 4 pm. From Utila they leave at 6.20 am and 2 pm.
